Leslie Clanton is an English Language Arts middle school teacher and the Academic Advisor for Ascension of Our Lord Catholic School. Ms. Clanton has been an educator for over 27 years, and within those years, she has served as a teacher, vice principal, principal, and Dean of Academics.
Ms. Clanton is a graduate of Ursuline Academy in New Orleans, Howard University in Washington D.C, where she received her B.A. in Political Science and English with a minor in French, and the University of New Orleans where she received her Post baccalaureate degree in Education and a Master's in Educational Leadership degree. Ms. Clanton has written and published a novel in 2020, and as the after school creative writing coach for Ascension of Our Lord Catholic School, she has helped three young middle school author's self publish their own books. Ms. Clanton finds great joy in helping young author's fulfill their dreams of publishing at a young age.
In her spare time, she loves traveling to see her son, who is a D1 track athlete at the University of Memphis, reading books, swimming, and most of all writing. She believes her God given purpose and calling is to create stronger writers and to pass on her passion for reading and writing to her students.
